Michigan

The city of Detroit destroyed 144 local businesses, sixteen churches, two schools, and a hospital in an area of 465 acres consisting mostly of Polish and African American citizens. It was one of the oldest integrated areas in the city. The area was locally known as Poletown. Today it is an automobile plant.
